HOLLYWOOD HILLS—If you mention the name Coppola, most people will assume you’re talking about the film director Francis Ford Coppola, who directed The Godfather Trilogy and Apocalypse Now, and who wrote the script for the George S. Patton film. However, he is only the scion of the Coppola family. He has three children: Roman, Sofia, both of whom are also film directors, and his oldest son, Gian Carlo Coppola, who passed away in 1996. Then there is Francis Ford Coppola’s granddaughter Gian-Carla Coppola, who goes by the name Gia Coppola.

In 1994, Francis Ford Coppola and his wife, Eleanor, bought a house in the Hollywood Hills that had three bedrooms and four bathrooms. He sold it in 2013 to Jacqui de la Fontaine. She was engaged to the late Gian Carlo when he died and was pregnant with their daughter. Now, Fontaine is selling the house because she plans to move back to the East Coast of the United States, where she grew up in New York. The house was built in 1922. Kristal Moffett, a realtor working for Compass, is handling the sale of the house, which is on the market for $2.3 million.
