CALIFORNIA—Around 4 p.m. on September 1, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Community Partnership Bureau announced that on August 25, its Counterfeit and Piracy Enforcement Team (CAPE) conducted a search of a commercial warehouse in the 11600 block of Goldring Road in Arcadia.  The search resulted in the seizure of counterfeit goods.
CAPE Team deputies worked with federal agents and recovered approximately 25,898 counterfeit items from luxury streetwear brands, with a total estimated value of $10 million.
Earlier in August, the CAPE Team learned of a shipment at a port of entry that contained counterfeit items. Following an inspection, investigators determined that the items were counterfeit versions of products made by Nike, Adidas, and other footwear brands.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.  No additional information has been released to the public, including the name of the business where the search occurred or the store owner’s name.
Over the past year, the CAPE Team has conducted approximately 25 searches that resulted in the recovery of about 200,000 counterfeit items, with an estimated total value of between $15 million and $25 million.

The CAPE Team identifies pirated or counterfeit goods, investigates companies that sell or distribute them, and refers cases for prosecution.  It also closely monitors major events, such as the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which law enforcement officials say can create opportunities to sell counterfeit goods. The team also releases information to the public and works with deputies at LASD stations and federal agents on investigations involving counterfeit goods.
