SANTA MONICA—A man pleaded not guilty to charges of indecent exposure and stalking eight women in Santa Monica, Long Beach, and Los Angeles. David Leon Lopez, 34, has been charged with five counts of indecent exposure, four counts of stalking, and one count of contact with a minor for a sexual offense.

The age of the women Lopez allegedly harassed, stalked, and exposed himself to range from 15 to 46. According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney, the alleged crimes transpired between October 1, 2019, and August 2, 2020.

Lopez could face up to seven years and six months in county jail if convicted as charged.

After Lopez was arrested on Thursday, August 20, for indecent exposure over social media, he was connected to six incidents in Long Beach all involving a man who was described to be driving a silver 2018 Ford Mustang with the license plate #8GFE158.

The incidents all also described the man as Hispanic, with black hair, brown eyes, glasses, and a mustache. The incidents begin on October 1 of 2019 with a man masturbating in a car on Wardlow Road and Golden Avenue. That same day a 17-year girl and a 21-year-old woman reported a man in the same mustang following them and masturbating in his vehicle in a nearby area.

Another report of a man masturbating in the same Mustang came on May 25, 2020. In July, the same vehicle was reported for a man following a 15-year-old girl and exposing himself in a vehicle. On August 2, a woman reported a man in Long Beach following her with similar descriptions of the aforementioned incidents.

Lopez’s bail is set at $600,000 and is scheduled to return to court on September 14 for a preliminary hearing. His case is still under investigation by the Long Beach Police Department
