BAKERSFIELD—A collision between a motorcycle and a van left the rider injured on Wednesday evening, September 10, 2025, according to KBAK.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers said the crash happened shortly after 8:15 p.m. on northbound Highway 99 near the eastbound Highway 58 interchange.
The impact threw the motorcyclist from the bike and caused injuries described as minor. Emergency medical crews arrived within minutes and gave aid at the scene before transporting the rider to a nearby hospital for additional evaluation and treatment. Officials have not released the motorcyclist’s name.
The driver of the van stayed at the scene after the crash and spoke with investigators. Authorities confirmed that the driver did not attempt to leave and cooperated fully with officers while they gathered information.
The collision created heavy delays for evening traffic. CHP closed at least two lanes on northbound Highway 99 and blocked the Ming Avenue on-ramp.
CHP investigators continue to examine the sequence of events that led to the collision.
