LOS ANGELES—Just like Alice’s wonderland, The Little Door takes you into a magical dining experience. This “Little Door” opens into a courtyard filled with candlelit tables and a wine bar that is truly excellent. We were invited here by ABC’s “Motor Man,” Leon Kaplan and his beautiful wife, to try a new experience. When I first discovered that this was an organic food restaurant, I thought, “Oh hell, boring as baby doo!”
Wow”¦ was I wrong!
The best of produce, meats and fish are a requirement of the owners, brothers Frederic and Nicolas Meschin, and chef, T. Nicolas Peter.
The ambiance is warm, welcoming and above all comfortable. You are never urged to hurry but rather take your time and savor everything. The chef has enhanced traditional French dishes with organic soul.
Everything is delicious and best of all, good for you!
The bartender/sommelier is exceedingly knowledgeable about his many, many available wines and the pours are generous.
The brothers had a dream (which many poo-pooed) about creating a four star restaurant with organic being the key element”¦ they have most certainly achieved it”¦ Bravo!
