SANTA MONICA—On Friday, October 10, a traffic accident occurred in Santa Monica at the intersection of Pico Boulevard and Main Street in which a vehicle owned by the Santa Monica Police and a pickup truck collided. The driver of the pickup truck and two officers were injured.
The collision occurred around 9:14 p.m. on Friday night.
As a result of this collision, significant damage was done to the front of the police vehicle. In addition, the pickup truck suffered extensive damage. Furthermore, debris covered the street.
Emergency vehicles responded to the traffic collision, but the intersection needed to be closed off to traffic.
Both of the officers and the driver of the pickup truck were sent to a nearby hospital to receive medical attention. At present, their condition is unknown, as is the cause of the accident, but the Santa Monica Police Department will release more information throughout their investigation.
